Pain Point: Shoulders

Principle: Attain Alignment

A healthy relationship is a reciprocal one. โค๏ธ Both sides bring something of value to the other person to the relationship. A healthy, aligned, body is also a reciprocal one. We need muscles ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ on our front and back and right ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿฝ and left ๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿฝ, reciprocating with one another. For example, if your left hip flexor muscles wonโ€™t turn off when youโ€™re walking ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿฝ, it makes it tough for the left hamstring muscles to do their job. This is what it means to be โ€œout of alignmentโ€.

To realign your body, you need to reset. The best tool for resetting is our breath.๐Ÿ’จ๐ŸŒฌ When we intentionally breathe with muscle activation, it creates a powerful connection and balance of our muscles through our body. Check out the exercise below to get your body back in alignment.

Iโ€™m always on the hunt ๐Ÿ‘€ for grain-free options for tortillas, pizzas, and pasta. ๐Ÿ•๐ŸDonโ€™t get me wrong, I love me a good homemade tortilla, but my body just feels better without grains.๐ŸŒพ

Recently, we purchased some siete, Almond Flour tortillas ๐ŸŒฎ to give them a try. They are pretty tasty for non-flour or corn tortillas. I put them on a hot cast iron ๐Ÿฅ˜ for 20 seconds per side and they held their integrity through my entire eating experience. ๐Ÿฝ

Ingredients: Almond Flour, Tapioca Flour, Water, Sea Salt, Xanthan gum

Tapioca flour is derived from the cassava plant and is Village Approved. โœ…

Xanthan gum is an emulsifier derived from plants and the research on itโ€™s health benefits/risks is mixed. The most dangerous side effect appears to be digestive upset. Yet itโ€™s still an emulsifier which makes it less than ideal for health. ๐Ÿ˜•

In order to maintain independence and mobility๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ, to travel โœˆ๏ธ, and to be an active grandparent who can run around the park ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ, you need springiness in your tissues.

As we age๐Ÿ‘ต๐Ÿฝ, the elasticity of our bodies degrades and we lose our ability to move quickly. This can lead to not being able to recover when you lose your balance, fall, and feeling like youโ€™re slowing down.

This is why weโ€™ve put the Jump as part of our Village Movement Standards.
